Add Ons and Upgrades

Frontier offers many different ways to pick what add ons and upgrades you'd like to pay for to enhance your travel experience- whether it's added flexibility or peace of mind, there are options for multiple scenarios. Frequently asked questions as well as a valuation are provided for each!

Bundles

What are Bundles?

Bundles are customized packages of add-on's tailored to your trip, and include popular items like flight flexibility, carry-on bags, and seat selections. Bundles are cheapest at initial booking.

What is included with each bundle?

Check out Frontier's FAQs on bundles HERE

What are the limitations?

  • all Frontier flights are nonrefundable. Cancellations are in the form of a travel credit
  • A bundle must be purchased for every passenger on a booking
  • Many elite status benefits are already included

Our Valuation: GREAT

Purchasing only one or two of the items included in a bundle is typically more costly than purchasing the bundle which includes more overall products. While the true value of a bundle can be diminished by having elite status, for the average traveler purchasing a bundled fare presents significant value proposition.

The Bundle Trick

  1. Confirm a GoWild! fare is available

Before making any changes to your existing booking, ensure that a GoWild! fare is available for the flight you already have a confirmed booking on.

  2. Book the GoWild! fare

Confirm the duplicate booking before cancelling the existing reservation. This will ensure that you secure the GoWild! fare.

  3. Add bundle to existing reservation

After confirming your duplicate reservation under the cheaper fare, add a bundle to the full fare reservation.

  4. Cancel existing reservation

Cancel the existing reservation with the bundle. You must do this quickly or your duplicate reservation will be cancelled.

Flight Flexibility

What is Flight Flexibility?

If you purchased Flight Flexibility, your first itinerary change is free. This change must be made on the flyfrontier.com website or via Frontier’s mobile app and must be made before 24 hours to departure, is guaranteed to be without a change fee, subject to the terms in this section.

What are the limitations?

  • Fare difference applies!
  • Can only be done more than 24 hours prior to departure of the first segment of your trip (including on round-trip itineraries)
  • No residual is kept if your new flight is lower in cost
  • The same fare type must be available.
  • A cancellation fee still applies. This is a change only.

Our Valuation: AVOID

Flight flexibility alone is not a very valuable add on. The change policy is much more restrictive than that which is provided with a bundle purchase. Flight flexibility rarely applies to GoWild! bookings simply because the fare type you change to must be the same.

Cancel for Any Reason

What is Cancel For Any Reason?

Cancel for any reason is a third party add on offered during some bookings that allows you to cancel up to one day in advance for either a full or partial refund.

What are the limitations?

  • The CFAR fee itself is normally nonrefundable.
  • You MUST cancel through the designated CFAR process. (not via the Frontier website)
  • Using CFAR cancels the entire booking. This means a round-trip flight can only be entirely canceled.
  • CFAR is for everybody or nobody. Cancellations apply to all passengers and directions.
  • CFAR does not waive any change fees.

Our Valuation: OKAY

Cancel for any reason is a great tool if your travel plans are uncertain. However, there is more value and a closer cancellation window for flights purchased with a bundle. While CFAR is a true refund to your original payment method, it comes with significant cost- unlike bundles which include more travel benefits and better flexbility.

Disruption Assistance

What is Disruption Assistance:

Disruption assistance is an add-on provided by HTS that will allow you to either rebook your Frontier flight onto another airline at no cost, or receive a full refund and take the booked flight if you experience a signficiant delay on the day of travel.

What are the limitations?

  • Disruption Assistance only protects against disruptions occurring within 24 hours of departure. It does not protect you if Frontier cancels or significantly changes your flight farther in advance. Rebooking on another airline is also limited to the Service Cap shown when you purchase the protection.
  • Disruption Assistance cannot be added to GoWild! or Miles bookings.

Our Valuation: GREAT

Frontier's operational reliability can often fall below industry trends. For a small fee, you can be rebooked onto another airline if you experience a delay on your Frontier flight. Frontier will NOT rebook you onto another airline if your travel plans are disrupted- however by adding this third party service you can be rebooked to get on your way sooner.
