Travel Disruptions:
What happens when things don't go as planned?
GoWild! bookings are confirmed bookings. These travel policies apply to all ticketed passengers.
My flight is delayed. What are my options?
My flight is delayed less than 3 hours:
There is nothing to do. Delays of 2h59m or less do not offer any flexibility, refunds, or compensation.
My flight is delayed more than 3 hours:
You can elect to cancel the remainder of your trip for a refund to the original payment method or a travel credit good for 5 years. You may also chose to change your flight destination to a similar city, or change dates. Alternatively you can keep the ticketed flight.
- You will only be refunded the unused portion of your ticket. Any refund will be prorated with this in mind.
- Meal vouchers are only offered when the airline is at fault for the disruption.

Frontier changed my flight time in advance. What are my options?
It is common for airlines to adjust their schedules based off of demand trends and airport operations. If your flight is changed in advance you will receive text message and email notificaitons from the airline with details regarding the change.
Changes under 1 hour:
For schedule changes under one hour there is no action needed on your part.
Changes between 1 and 3 hours:
For schedule changes more than one hour but less than three hours you may elect to cancel for a travel credit. Refunds are not available.
Changes over 3 hours:
For schedule changes over 3 hours you may select a new departure flight to the same or similar cities within 2 days before or after your scheduled flight at no charge. If there is no desireable option you are eligible for a full refund to the original payment method.
I’m going to miss my connection! Now what?
Typically, the airline will request you to take the first flight in your connecting itinerary. It is possible the second flight will also be delayed (depending on the reason for the missed connection). If you DO miss the connecting flight, the airline will get you scheduled on the next available flight to your destination operated by Frontier. Regardless of fault, Frontier does not provide hotels. File a claim with your personal or credit card provided travel insurance policy.
I’ve been bumped from my flight. What are my options?
Frontier Airlines is consistently the most likely airline to bump paying passengers because of an oversell situation.
If you volunteered to give up your seat:
If you volunteered to give up your seat, the compensation should be clear and provided from a a gate agent before you leave the boarding area. Do not leave the boarding area until you have been rebooked on an onward flight and compensation has been issued.
If you were denied boarding involuntarily:
You may qualify for compensation if an oversold flight departs from a U.S. airport, you have a confirmed reservation, and you meet the airline’s check-in and gate-arrival deadlines. Exceptions apply. The airline must give you a written explanation of your rights and its boarding priorities. DOT: Bumping & Oversales
How much compensation is required?
The amount depends on the replacement transportation’s planned arrival at your destination or first stopover, compared with your original arrival time—not how long you wait at the gate.
- Within 1 hour: No denied-boarding compensation is required.
- Domestic: more than 1 hour but less than 2 hours late: 200% of the applicable one-way fare, capped at $1,075.
- Domestic: 2 hours or more late, or no replacement transportation offered: 400%, capped at $2,150.
- International departures from the U.S.: The 200% tier applies to more than 1 hour but less than 4 hours; the 400% tier applies at 4 hours or more, or when no replacement transportation is offered.
These are the required minimum payments subject to the caps; airlines may offer more. 14 CFR § 250.5
Cash, check, or voucher?
You can insist on cash or check. A voucher is optional, and the airline must disclose its restrictions and the cash/check amount before you choose it. Payment is due at the airport that day; if replacement transportation leaves before payment can be prepared, payment is due within 24 hours. DOT: Fly Rights
What about GoWild! tickets?
Passholders in our Facebook group have reported receiving about $62 after being involuntarily bumped from a GoWild! flight, described as four times their one-way GoWild! fare. This is anecdotal experience, not a guaranteed payment for every GoWild! booking. DOT’s definition of fare includes mandatory taxes and fees, excluding optional extras. For qualifying “zero fare” tickets, the calculation instead uses the lowest paid fare in the same class on that flight. These sources do not specifically explain GoWild! treatment; ask Frontier for its calculation and the fare basis used. 14 CFR Part 250
When might compensation not apply?
Examples include a smaller-aircraft substitution required for operational or safety reasons, missed check-in deadlines, and flights departing outside the U.S. A cancellation is not oversale bumping. DOT eligibility and exceptions
Denied-boarding compensation is separate from using your ticket for onward travel or requesting an involuntary refund if you arrange your own travel. Fees for optional services not provided on the replacement flight must also be refunded. DOT: Fly Rights

Sister Cities
For disrupted travel or schedule changes you may be able to select to depart from or arrive at similar destinations to your original ticketed itinerary. Below are what Frontier considers "sister cities".
Frontier may consider the airport an acceptable alternate point during an involuntary reroute or diversion even though Frontier does not currently operate regular scheduled service there.
